DRY SCRUBBERS

Dry scrubbers, unlike wet scrubbers, remove pollutants from industrial exhaust streams without using a liquid solution. Instead, they rely on dry sorbent or granular material to capture pollutants through a physical or chemical process. Common sorbents include lime, limestone, and activated carbon. As the polluted gas passes through the scrubber, the sorbent reacts with the pollutants, neutralizing or absorbing them. The cleaned gas then exits the scrubber, while the captured pollutants are collected and disposed of. Dry scrubbers are preferred in certain industries where water usage is restricted or when the pollutants are not easily soluble in water. They’re utilized in applications such as cement production, incineration, and semiconductor manufacturing to control emissions and comply with environmental regulations.
